Nigel Peake / Illustrator

Nigel Peake’s new book In The Wilds is a collection of hand-drawn observations of farms, fields, and birds taken from childhood impressions, and Peake’s current life in a one-road Irish village. I love his detailed pencil and ink drawings and beautifully muted watercolors. (images by Nigel Peake)

Lizz Aston / Fibre Artist

Lizz Aston is a fibre based artist from Toronto. Her medium of choice is paper which is hand-spun into thread, crocheted, knotted, starched, stitched and burned. I think I’m attracted to these because I’m in the throes of figuring out my first fancy work crochet project, and thus have a whole new found respect for the process! Caramel Corn & Peacock Blue Tones

Inspired by this simple caramel and blue with lace outfit I pulled together a few other complimentary images: a piece by fiber artist Leonore Tawney, mid century modern interior by Emily Summers, ceramic sculpture by Katy Krantz, and a great table decor idea using a single sprig.
