Just Eleanor / Illustration
The shapes and style of Eleanor’s artwork, as well as her colour palette, is reminiscent of the modernist paintings of the 1950-60s. She does adorable pet portraits and design work as well. See more of her work here and here. (all images belong to Eleanor)

White Kitchen
We’re moving soon to a house with a nice, small, white kitchen. I’m starting the search for the finishing touches to make it ours. I like the undesigned look, and think that some of these touches would go well to finesse what we’ve already got: wood touches, dark walls, dark floor, white tiles, large artwork, mottled glass in the cupboards. Swedish Real Estate
Having been on a recent house hunting expedition, I feel qualified to comment on the state of how much more inspiring Swedish real estate is to look at, then here in Canada. I’d be asking where do I sign, before even visiting the place, if we lived over there! Using real estate ads for inspiration? Who would have thought! (all images from Bo-laget, via Emmas Designblogg)

What the events reveal is the thinness of the margin on which modernity...
– Bill McKibben, The Guardian (Climate change may not be responsible for the tsunami, but it is shrinking our margin of safety. It is time to shrink back ourselves.)
Ferns
Conroy & Wilcox’s Fern Collection is a Sterling Silver collection that is a collaborative jewelry project with visual artist Jolynn Krystosek. The fern frond pieces were carved out of wax and then cast and made into collars, earrings, barettes and tiaras. They are limited edition and you can see more here. Japan
I can’t stop thinking about Japan. My heart goes out to everyone there. I am so glad my friends and their families are okay, but I cry for everyone lost or who have lost loved ones. And the devastation of such a beautiful country. (1000 cranes image by Coda)

MaeMae Paperie
MaeMae means “little sister” in Chinese (spelt mèimèi) and Megan Knight Gonzalez uses that familial title for her stationery company to reflect the support and encouragement of her family as well as to remind herself to give back to others. Well merited and a noble vision. Visit her shop. (all images MaeMae)
