Neutral Quilt
Someday in my life, I’d like to take the time to put together a beautiful, neutral, freeform patchwork quilt. Here is some inspiration I’ve stumbled upon in my travels: photos from Jude Hill (Flickr); Cathy Cullis (Flickr); My Spinning wheels blog and Purl Be blog. »

Olympic Flame
Yesterday evening the Olympic flame came through Kamloops on its way to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics. There is something about a small town. It wasn’t hard to feel a part of a community as a cluster of my neighbours and I waited in the cold for the moment. Although I probably won’t even be watching the games in the next two weeks, there was something exciting about seeing the flame...

The Society / Australia
The Society is an old shop that specialises in textiles, furniture, homewares and paint colours. They offer services in choosing paint for your walls, styling for interiors, and wedding design. The neat thing with their site is that they have themes, like this one: indigo. They pick inspirational surfaces, objects and spaces to connect the colour scheme. (via for me, for you) »

Gucio Photography / Vancouver
I just had the pleasure to meet and sit in on a photo shoot with the girls from Gucio Photography in Vancouver. If you have a new baby, a wedding, an engagement, or other special event to record for posterity, these are the photographers to talk to!! The sunlight and well-being you feel as you walk into their tiny studio may emanate from the large filtered windows in the wall, but I have a feeling...

Ulla Johnson
It is sunny and 10˚C here. I have thrown open the windows and I’m listening to the birds singing. We have a few more months of winter left here, I know, but at least for today I can wish I was wearing these fine pretties! See the spring and summer collections here. In Vancouver, visit Moule and the Block. »

Jim Rimmer
It is with sadness that I found out that the great typographer, Jim Rimmer, passed away Januray 12th this year. Anyone who was lucky enough to visit with him and tour his press, came away with a profound and awed sense of how type should work and where it comes from. In the days of freely available digital fonts, we rarely take time to remember those who actually crafted letterforms by hand. I was...

Displaying Family Photos
Here are three ideas for including family photos in the home, making them into art. I love the clean look, rather than frames all over. (photos via apartmenttherapy) »

Rara Avis Nidus
Rara Avis Nidus is a creative workshop in Spain composed of Elena R Gaspa and Elvira H Mateu. Their work captures the rough beauty of nature. There is also a sense of delicate whimsy about the entwined flowers, plants and insects that inhabit their pieces. »

Full Moon Story / Vogue Korea
These delightful photos by Kim Kyung Soo are from a Vogue Korea magazine in 2007, but the images themselves and the traditional Korean dress, the Han Bok, is timeless. I couldn’t find the original images on line, but see more here. »
