Happy Hallowe'en!
After the little ghosts and ghouls have stopped knocking on the door tonight, snuggle in and watch this special little horror movie, Let the Right One In. The beautiful cinematography and realistic setting obviously have a dark tale to tell, but it is so worth telling. I like that the story is a little fluid and open to a bit of interpretation.

Helicopters
I shall never cease delighting in the path these little helicopters take as they drift down from their parent trees… These were photographed on the bench in the lovely park across the street from us.

Pocket Pillow
These hold all boxes are inspired by a Japanese anemone box. At first it looks like a pillow, twist it and it opens to be a bag for stashing treasures! They come in a mini size for jewellery as well. So darling. (see Modern Twist for details they are on sale right now!)

Fall
I love this time of year! The leaves are all crunchy underfoot and I can bundle up once again in my woolens and scarves! I’ve never had a yard before but I’m loving the yard work that comes with it and the preparation for the winter. Anticipation is also dancing in my head, as I plant many bulbs, hoping for a colourful surprise in the spring. (photo Flickr)

Dessert / Christine Rudolph
Although I’ve never met a dessert I didn’t like, I’ve gone off sugar for the most part of a few years, and so we don’t always think of making something to finish off the meal. However I did offer to bring the pie for D’s birthday party on Halloween, and these photos by Christine Rudolph certainly have me inspired!

Away We Go
We just watched Away We Go. What a sweet movie! A good movie to see if you are thinking about having kids or are pregnant already! Funny and feels real somehow – at least it did to us! (Listen to the soundtrack too! Scottish song writer and singer Alexis Murdoch has an amazing voice.)
